Yellow Pine Floral

Thank you for choosing flowers grown with care on our Illinois farm!

Please note: The following are general guidelines only. Flower longevity depends on many factors including specific variety, harvest stage, environmental conditions, water quality, and how the flowers are handled after pickup. These recommendations are provided as helpful suggestions and are not a guarantee of performance. Yellow Pine Floral is not responsible for the vase life, condition, or performance of flowers once they leave our farm.

1. Right When You Get Home

Unwrap the flowers promptly.

Cut the stems at a 45-degree angle (about 1 inch from the bottom) using clean, sharp scissors or pruners.

Remove any leaves that will sit below the water line.

2. Prepare Your Vase

Use a clean vase.

Fill with fresh, room-temperature water.

Add the flower food packet we provided.

3. Placement & Environment

Keep out of direct sunlight, heat sources, drafts, and near ripening fruit.

Ideal temperature: 65–70°F (18–21°C) with indirect light.

4. Daily Maintenance

Change the water every 1–2 days.

Re-cut stems every other day.

Remove wilted flowers or leaves promptly.

5. Variety-Specific Tips

Ranunculus – Heavy drinkers; prefer cooler conditions.

Lisianthus – Very long-lasting but keep vase full.

Dahlias – Heavy drinkers; benefit from cooler spots.

Zinnias – Use room-temperature water.

6. Troubleshooting
